More compact Nissan EV, Toyota Teammate, Polestar 2 overview: Today’s Car Information

2 min read

Toyota and Lexus have an assisted-driving process, but it’s currently being pitched really in another way than Tesla Navigate on Autopilot. Nissan could be readying a compact EV subsequent. And the Polestar 2 feels like Volvo overall performance for the EV age. This and much more, listed here at Inexperienced Motor vehicle Reports.

Nissan is reportedly arranging a smaller electric powered crossover to slot down below the future Ariya. The model would be sized about like the U.S. marketplace Kicks—or European-market place Juke—and have a shortened version of the Ariya’s CMF-EV system. With Nissan on history stating the Leaf nameplate is not likely away, it is unclear no matter if these a model would effectively be the new Leaf.

Toyota is launching what it calls a “partial fingers-free” driver support system—think Autopilot alternative—on its Mirai hydrogen fuel-cell motor vehicle and Lexus LS 500h hybrid luxurious sedan. Named Teammate, and including “Advanced Travel,” the system permits small-amount automation on constrained-obtain highways, and seems to be a conservative technique in contrast to Tesla Navigate on Autopilot, GM Super Cruise, or Ford Active Generate Help.

The 2021 Polestar 2 electrical car feels far more like a Volvo than the XC40 Recharge that essentially bears the Volvo badge. It channels the understated Swedish effectiveness mission very well, and serves as a niche, otherworldly substitute to a Tesla Product 3 that can look mainstream subsequent to the Polestar.

And above at Motor Authority: Nio, the Chinese company at the time pegged as the most probably rival to Tesla—but barely survived a collection of fiscal challenges—has eventually created its 100,000th car or truck.
